OW30016: FNM03STM 'NCP MANAGEMENT NETWORK START' NPM ONLINE PANEL LISTS ALL MONITOR EVENT TYPES WHEN DYNAMIC RESOURCE = YES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• PROBLEM:  NPM 2.3 (same problem occurs in NPM 2.2) online panel
  FNM03STM 'NCP Management - Network Start' panel normally lists
  the monitor criteria valid for the resource type for which the
  online netcoll command is being started.
     It does so correctly ONLY when DYNAMIC RESOURCE field on
  FNM03STD 'NCP Management - Network Start' panel is set to NO.
     If set DYNAMIC RESOURCE to YES, then ALL the monitor data typ
  which are defined to NPM are listed, even all the ones which are
  invalid for this type of resource (like CCU UTILIZATION when the
  resource is a NTRI physical link).
  
  It looks like the code must be incorrectly thinking:
    'hey, this is a dynamic resource, therefore lets display all
     the monitor types available to NPM'.
  It should think 'hey, this is a dynamic resource, but I should
     display only those monitor types valid for this resource,
     just like I do when DYNAMIC=NO is specified'.
  
  This fails exactly the same under NPM 2.2 and NPM 2.3.
  I believe it fails the same no matter what the resource is, but
  I have tried it using NTRI (TIC2) physical link and a Frame
  Relay physical link.
