Error description

  • MSGIST259I INOP 01 when activating a AHHC connection using in
this case CNT's channel extender. The trace showed that this
problem occurred when the CE / DE was split.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
During the activation sequence of an AHHC connection, VTAM
received a standalone DE to a PREPARE WRITE that was issued.
Module ISTTSC8E determined that this was an asyncronous
DE, when in fact it was a syncronous DE received in response
to the PREPARE WRITE channel program.
In this configuration, CNT channel extenders are being used.
During the XID3 exchange at link activation, CNT sends immediate
CE & DE on PREPARE READs. However, on PREPARE WRITEs, they send
an immediate CE but delay the DE until they have confirmation
that the read on the other side completes.
ISTTSC8E INOPed the AHHC connection when a syncronous DE was
received to the PREPARE WRITE. This problem only occurs
on AHHC connections while the XCNSSFSM is XCNSSRDY and
    MPC dynamics is supported.

Problem conclusion

  • Module ISTTSC8E has been corrected to analyze the interrupt
    correctly.
