OW18037: ISPF SCREEN OUTPUT ERROR CODE 55 FOR SDSF PANEL ISFPCU41 WHEN INSPLIT SCREEN WITH ISPF PDF EDIT IN LOWER SCREEN

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ISPF screen output error code 55 for SDSF panel ISFPCU41.  The
  user is in split screen with SDSF in the top logical screen and
  in ISPF EDIT in the lower logical screen.  The user enters
  characters on the last visible line of text in the EDIT session
  when in insert mode and enters characters until the keyboard
  locks.  This action will cause a character to be placed into the
  row 1 column 1 of the SDSF panel ISFPCU41 which does not contain
  an attribute character, which results in the ISPF screen output
  error code 55.  Hilite needs to be active in EDIT to encouter
  the error.
  

Local fix

• Enter an ATTRIBUTE character into ROW 1 COLUMN 1 of panels that
  encounter this error or disable HILITE in EDIT.

  THE USER IS IN SPLIT SCREEN WITH SDSF ON THE TOP SCREEN.
  THE ERROR IS A RESULT OF THE TOP SCREEN NOT HAVING AN
  ATTRIBUTE DEFINED IN ROW 1 COLUMN 1. THIS ONLY OCCURS
  IN EDIT WITH HILITE ON AND THE LAST LINE ON THE SCREEN
  BEING AN EDIT INPUT LINE WITH A FIELD HILIGHTED.
  

Problem conclusion

• ISPMBX HAS BEEN CHANGED TO TAKE CHARACTER ATTRIBUTES IN TO
  CONSIDERATION WHEN CHECKING THE LAST INPUT FIELD ON A SCREEN.
