Error description
When VTAM is providing boundary function for both the PLU and SLU, session display PSESST (PLU owes SESST signal). When the session is terminated, SLU receives USSMSG7 with 08390001 SENSE.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All who use VTAM Boundary Function. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: VTAM does not send BFSESSST from the * * boundary function (BF) of the PLU. * * This causes the session on the SLU * * HOST to display PSEST-P. When the * * session is terminated, the * * SLU receives USSMSG7 with 08390001 * * sense code. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This problem occurs when VTAM is providing the boundary function for both the PLU and the SLU, because ISTTSCTR no longer sends BFSESST for the PLU in this situation. The following scenario is observed: ICN(V4.3) _______________________________ SLU |SASSCP BFPLU SLUAPPN| |_____________________________| INIT SELF -----------> SRQ ---------------------> SCR -----> SCP -----> SRC -----> SRC <-------------------- SRQ --------------------> LOCATE/FIND/CDINIT ------------------- BIND(RSCV) <----------- BFINIT(RSCV) <------------------- ARC <-------------------------- BFCINIT -------------------> GBIND <---------- BIND (REQ) <--------------------- BIND(RSP) ----------------------> SESSST ------------------> There is NO BFSESSST sent from the BF of the PLU. This causes the session on the SLU host to display PSEST. Because there is no BFSESSST, the SSCP has a USSMSG7 queued in case the session fails. The USSMSG7 will remain queued until the SESSST is received on both the SLU and PLU's behalf or the session fails. When the session is terminated, the queued USSMSG7 is sent out along with sense 08390001 instead of USSMSG10.
Problem conclusion
In segment RSPACTLU of module ISTTSCTS the SSVSLUSS flag has been moved.
