    ****************************************************************
In a multiple system environment, editing a member of a PDSE
on one system and then attempting to access the PDSE from
another system will result in an ABEND 213-70.

Problem conclusion

  • When sharing data in a multiple system environment, opening
a PDSE for output on one system will prevent the PDSE from
being opened on any other system.
ISPF edit opens the PDSE for output when a member is selected.
ISPF has changed this so that PDSs and PDSEs are processed in
the same way, the data set will be opened for output only when
saving the data. This will reduce the window when other systems
will be prevented from accessing the PDSE.
