Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of ISPF Edit. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When changing from NUM ON COBOL to NUM * * ON STD COBOL, the command must be * * entered twice to properly position the * * display to column 7. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When editing a member that has NUM ON COBOL, the edit display is positioned such that column 7 is the left most column displayed. When entering NUM ON STD COBOL, the display should not change, but in fact is scrolled so that column 1 is the left most column. The NUM ON STD COBOL command must be entered again to reposition the display back to column 7.
Problem conclusion
When number mode is entered, the editor attempts to determine if the display needs to be repositioned. When the display was already positioned to the proper location, the editor would improperly reset the display. Code has been added to ensure the display will be properly set in all cases.
