APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Option 9 does not work for nested options. For example 9.1
    leaves the user at the panel ISRDIIS. This is because in the
    DTL for ISRDIIS the CMDAREA tag has omitted the NOINIT parm.
    This causes ZCMD to be initialized to blank in the )INIT
    section.

Local fix

  • Change one line of the DTL source of ISRDIIS from:
       <cmdarea padc=user>
    To:
       <cmdarea noinit padc=user>

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Attempting to access option 9.x fails. *
    * Stopping at the option 9 panel first *
    * and then access the suboption works. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When attempting to use the jump function to access one of
    the suboption of ISPF option 9 may fail and leave the user on
    the option 9 panel.

Problem conclusion

  • The CMDAREA tag of the option 9 DTL panel (ISRDIIS) did not
    contain the NOINIT keyword, causing the generated panel to
    blank out the command line, losing the suboption entered. The
    NOINIT keyword has been added to the DTL panel.
