Error description

  • When adjacent sscp routing is being done and VTAM receives a
sense code from ISTAPNCP, the APPN side of VTAM, that the
subarea adjsscp routing does not recognize, adjsscp routing
stops. The sense code is treated as a non-reroutable sense
    code.
The following is an example only:
IST663I IPS SRC REQUEST TO ISTAPNCP RECEIVED, SENSE=08210002
    IST664I REAL OLU=NETY.CICSY REAL DLU=NETX.CICSX
    IST889I SID = C597D38B92687EE7
IST264I REQUIRED LOGMODE NAME SNALOGMD UNDEFINED
    IST891I NET.CDRM23 GENERATED FAILURE NOTIFICATION
IST893I ORIGINAL FAILING REQUEST IS GDS CDINIT
    IST314I END
Additional symptoms: PRSCDPRE for an LU even
though there are no CP-CP sessions. We are trying to
search APPN even though there are no APPN connections.

    ****************************************************************
When adjacent sscp routing is being done, ISTSSCUX will attempt
to route to ISTAPNCP even if there are no CP-CP sessions.
When adjacent sscp routing is being done and VTAM receives a
sense code from ISTAPNCP that ISTSSCZI does not recognize,
ISTSSCZI will treat it as a non reroutable sense code. Adjsspc
routing stops and the session fails with the sense returned by
    ISTAPNCP.
When a resource off an End Node (EN) VTAM sets up a SLU init
session cross network, VTAM was saving its own name as the
CP PLU. When a second SLU init session was attempted, the
session hung. The CDINIT failed with 10010033 on the PLU host
    and the NNS.

Problem conclusion

  • ISTSSCUX was changed to not route to ISTAPNCP if there are no
CP-CP sessions. ISTSSCZI, ISTSXCAC, and ISTSXCXP were changed
to examine the failure info returned from ISTAPNCP and treat
an unrecognized sense code as reroutable if there was no DLU CP
name returned. If the DLU CP name was returned, this indicates
the DLU was found, so an unrecognized sense code will be treated
as non reroutable. ISTSSCZI has a list of recognized sense
codes that are processed on an individual basis. PTM P114251.
ISTSSCFY, ISTSSCB3, ISTSXCXP, and ISTSXCCR have been changed
to save the PLU CP name received on the SRC/CDSESSST in the PLU
RDTE. This name was already being included on the IPS but
wasn't being parsed or used. This will cause the next CDINIT to
    succeed. PTM P109027.
