Error description
The ABEND0C4 occurs in DSNWAAPI because the caller provides an incorrectly initialized IFCA control block, causing the IFCARA64 flag to be set when it should not be. As a result, DSNWAAPI interprets the return area using the wrong addressing format and abends when attempting to store data. The issue is caused by the caller not clearing the IFCA before setting its fields, leaving residual data that leads to an incorrect IFCARA64 value. Proper initialization of the IFCA resolves the problem.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All ZDLA 320 users. * **************************************************************** The IFCA is allocated and utilized within IZDDCMDI; however, it is not fully initialized before use. As a result, certain fields including the IFCARA64 bit remain uncleared between successive calls. This leads to inconsistent behavior, as the failure pattern depends on whatever residual data was previously present in the allocated storage.
Problem conclusion
Initialized the IFCA flag to resolve the flag in module IZDDCMDI
