OA67961: CKR0595 MESSAGES ISSUED IN ERROR WHEN PROCESSING SMF TYPE 42 SUBTYPE 27 RECORDS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• CKR0595 messages issued in error when processing SMF type 42
  subtype 27 records.
  
  This occurs when a RACF data set naming convention table
  (ICHNCV00) is implemented.
  
  If the volume of CKR0595 messages is sufficent it can exhaust
  31-bit storage.
  

Local fix

• Suppress the CKR0595 messages with SUP MSG=595

  When a RACF data set naming convention table (ICHNCV00) is
  implemented, and SMF data source processed by the program
  contains records of type 42, sub-type 27 (VTOC audit log), the
  zSecure Audit issues a series of MSGCKR0595 (one for each SMF
  record type 42, sub-type 27) which begins with the text
  "Qualifier of length 0 not supported...". Eventually the program
  runs out of storage and terminates with ABENDU0999.
  

Problem conclusion

• zSecure Audit has been modified, so that it does not issue a
  series of MSGCKR0595 while processing SMF data containing
  records of type 42, sub-type 27 (VTOC audit log).
