OA67268: HOST ON-DEMAND 14.0.7: ASSOCIATED PRINTER SESSION FAILS TO RECONNECT AFTER A NETWORK DROP BUT THE TERMINAL RECONNECTS PROMPTLY.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The HOD server is on z/OS 2.5. The client side HOD version
  14.0.7.0_DOD-B20240625  is on Windows 10 desktop.
  
  Users utilize the associated printer function to print to their
  desktop printers. If there is a network event that drops the
  connection the terminal / display session will re-establish but
  the printer session will not. Both sessions are configured to
  reconnect automatically.
  
  Both of these sessions use a client digital certificate (Common
  Access Card -- CAC Card) to authenticate as part of the ELF
  process.
  
  The printer session needs to reconnect if there is a network
  drop.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• If a 3270 session is associated with a printer session and the
  network disconnects, both the 3270 and printer sessions will be
  disconnected. However, the 3270 session automatically reconnects
  when the network reconnects, but the associated printer session
  does not start the reconnect.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code changes have been made to reconnect the associated printer
  session along with the 3270 session.
