OMEGAMON DATA PROVIDER 2024 Q3 MAINTENANCE
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All OMEGAMON Data Provider users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: OMEGAMON DATA PROVIDER 2024 Q3 * * MAINTENANCE * **************************************************************** This APAR includes new features and minor fixes. New features ------------ OMEGAMON Data Broker: - Support for TLSv1.3 Broker forwarders can now use either TLSv1.3 or TLSv1.2 to connect to sinks (OMEGAMON Data Connect). Previously, Broker forwarders supported only TLSv1.2. - Support for larger cells Broker stores now support cell sizes up to 1 GB. The previous maximum was 65536 bytes. A Broker store must define cells that are large enough to accommodate the incoming records from the data source. The size of incoming records depends on the data source. OMEGAMON Data Provider documentation in IBM Docs deliberately does not specify the maximum cell size. OMEGAMON Data Provider users do not need to determine which cell sizes to specify. If a data source requires values that are different to the defaults, then the documentation for the data source will supply values for you to copy into the Broker configuration member. This new support for larger cells is described here, in this APAR, so that data sources that require larger cells can identify this APAR as a prerequisite. OMEGAMON Data Connect: - New OpenTelemetry output (experimental) The new OpenTelemetry (OTel) output sends OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) requests over gRPC (OTLP/gRPC) to destinations such as Instana, other telemetry backends, and OpenTelemetry Collector. This output is experimental and subject to change.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
