OA66701: ABEND S0C4 IN GZDRPT WHEN GROUP IS DELETED SOON AFTER COMPLETION ZDMF/K

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After a group completes, zDMF triggers the report task to
  produce the completion report.  If the group is deleted while
  this is in progress, a S0C4 abend in the report task can occur.

Problem summary

  *                      terminates can cause a S0C4 in GZDRPT   *
  *                      when it returns from generating a       *
  *                      termination report for a group with     *
  *                      large files such as a GDG with many     *
  *                      generations and many volumes.           *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  The ESTAE within GZDRPT caused an abend message to the
  console and produced an SVC dump but did not attempt to retry.
  

Problem conclusion

• Save the address of the next group (if any) to be processed.
  The ESTAE routine was then set to perform a retry.  The retry
  check if there is another report to generate and if so,
  continued.  If there is no next group, exit the program.
