OA65166: THE IFAQUERY MACRO MAY CASE AN ABEND 0D6 IF IT IS INVOKED WHEN SMF IS NOT ACTIVE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If the IFAQUERY service is called after SMF has terminated
  via an ABEND of some kind, the program issuing the IFAQUERY
  will fail with ABEND 06D RSN=27.  Instead, since SMF is not
  active, IFAQUERY should return with RC=12.

  A program that invokes the IFAQUERY executable macro when SMF
  is not active may fail with ABEND0D6 RSN27.  This is because
  the IFAQUERY PC number is not valid if SMF is not active on the
  system.
  

Problem conclusion

• The IFAQUERY executable macro is updated to issue a return code
  of 12 ('0C'x) with a reason code of '0C01'x if SMF is not
  active.
  
  Note: Programs that call IFAQUERY must be recompiled to include
  the updated IFAQUERY code provided by this APAR.
