Error description
DUMP with STORGRP parameter may receive MSGADR826W THE FOLLOWING VOLUMES WERE NOT ONLINE FOR STORGRP storgrp: volser MVS STATUS IS OFFLINE and job ends with CC=04. Since it is normal to pre-define volumes in an SMS storage group, DFSMSdss should provide a way to bypass or eliminate this message and non-zero CC.
Local fix
BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION: If the only warning message issued is ADR826W you can rerun the job specifying: IF LASTCC = 4 THEN - SET MAXCC = 0 in the SYSIN after the DUMP command to allow the job to end with CC=00

Problem conclusion
DFSMSdss has been modified to introduce a new patch byte in ADRPTCHB at offset x'61'. When set, DFSMSdss will omit message ADR826W. Omitting the warning message will prevent DSS from setting the overall return code to 4 for the task. -- The following update will be reflected in a future revision of z/OS DFSMS Storage Administration (SA38-6868): In Chapter 14. DFSMSdss patch area, add the new patch description to the end of the chapter as follows: Omitting the ADR826W warning message when the STORGRP keyword is specified When the STORGRP keyword is used, if there are unavailable volumes defined to the storage group(s) specified, ADR826W is issued and the overall return code is set to 4. DFSMSdss is providing this patch to allow the user to override the warning message that causes the overall return code to be set to 4. When the patch is set, DFSMSdss will instead omit the ADR826W message. This function is affected by setting the flag at offset X'61' in ADRPTCHB or with the SET PATCH command. The settings are: X'00' DFSMSdss functions normally. Any setting other than X'00' When DFSMSdss detects an unavailable volume for a specified storage group, it will omit issuing ADR826W.
