• COBOL STATUS 90 (VSAM error code 104) when writing to an
  Extended/Extended Addressable ESDS with RLS

  * RLS Record Management return with                            *
  * error code 8 and reason code 104 when                        *
  * accessing a EF/EA ESDS without                               *
  * specifying the XRBA option.                                  *

  RLS fails all record management requests to the EF/EA ESDS if
  XRBA option is not specified.
  

Problem conclusion

• RLS will fail the POINT and GET DIR request and allow PUT, GET
  SEQ, and POINT request from the beginning or the end of data
  set for a EF/EA ESDS without specifiying the XRBA option.
