OA64316: PSF ABEND X'024' WITH REASON CODE X'0870'

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• PSF runs out of storage and see storage fragmentation.   It
  has a repeating pattern of doing a GETMAIN for a  Length=4904
  X'1328' bytes with a later FREEMAIN for the same location of
  only  Length=4152 X'1038' bytes, leaving a fragment of x'2F0' or
  752 bytes each time.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
  * PSF runs out of storage causing an ABEND024 RC0870. The      *
  * storage leak is caused by a GETMAIN of x'1328' bytes, but    *
  * the corresponding FREEMAIN is only x'1038' bytes. This       *
  * leaves a storage fragment of x'2F0' bytes each time this is  *
  * done eventually running PSF out of storage..                 *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  * Apply the applicable PTF.                                    *

  An ABEND024 RC0870 is caused by a continual storage leak of
  x'2F0' bytes.
