Error description
ABEND0C4-10 or 11 at IXLD2GLC (HBB77C0) + 14DA could occur when undergoing the capture of SVCDUMP and SDATA=XESDATA was included. The translation exception storage could be due to the timing as it was freemain before trying to access it under the dump exit. ANALYSIS: ABEND0C4 occurs at IXLD2GLC (HBB77C0) + 14DA KNOWN IMPACT: IEA611I PARTIAL DUMP SDRSN = 00000000 00000000 00800000 00000000 - Error occurred in an SDUMP global exit. Unnecessary logrec entry were seen. Due to the nature of the storage page involved, it could be a one time occurrance (ie Page freemained between the start of the dump and running in this IXLD2GLC) or repeated events (ie If the same virtual page was seen as getmained but not backed by any real frame or aux frame any more). Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * Installations exploiting basic or parallel sysplex at z/OS * * V2R4 (HBB77C0) and above. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * MSGIEA611I or MSGIEA911E indicating partial dump with insert * * ERROR OCCURRED IN AN SDUMP GLOBAL EXIT or ERROR OCCURRED IN * * AN SDUMP LOCAL EXIT, along with a LOGREC entry indicating an * * ABEND in an XCF or XES dump exit routine. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * * Install the applicable PTF on each system in the sysplex. A * * rolling IPL is sufficient to activate the fix. * **************************************************************** When accessing storage to be included in a dump, a dump exit may encounter a program check for a page that is not backed by real storage. The dump exit routines that execute when a dump request specifies the SDATA COUPLE or XESDATA options or the STRDATA keyword fail to recognize this type of "expected" error and inappropriately record them in LOGREC and indicate a partial dump. SYSPLEXDS
Problem conclusion
The affected dump exit routines are modified to ignore expected errors and continue processing normally if they occur. LOGREC entries are suppressed and the complete or partial status of the dump remains unchanged.
