Error description
IBM Z Anomaly Analytics with Watson.Continuous Delivery 5.1.0.7
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM Z Anomaly Analytics with * * Watson * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This is a Continuous Delivery PTF. See * * the Problem Summary for details. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: All users of IBM Z Anomaly Analytics with * * Watson should install this PTF. * **************************************************************** (1) Applying maintenance and continuous delivery PTFs to the metric-based machine learning system requires the runtime environment to be removed and re-created. (2) The database=cleandata command does not remove any SMF data. To clean out or prune SMF, SQL queries must be manually executed against the enterprise data warehouse database. (3) There is a single configuration parameter IZOA_DB2HLQ that specifies the high-level qualifier for both the Db2 SDSNLOAD and SDSNEXIT libraries. If these two libraries are installed with different qualifiers in the data set name, the database command used to manage the enterprise data warehouse database will fail for most command options. (4) There is no way to set a threshold for what scores are sent by the metric-based machine learning system to the Problem Insights server rules engine. (5) The Problem Insights server is unable to read data from the enterprise data warehouse database and display it on the user interface if the zParm DECIMAL=COMMA is set on Db2 for z/OS.
Problem conclusion
(1) This PTF requires the runtime environment to be removed and re-created but will be the last to do so. Future PTFs will not require the metric-based machine learning runtime environment to be removed and re-created if this on has been installed. For more information see "Upgrading the runtime for the metric-based machine learning system from Version 5.1.0.7 or later to Version 5.1.0.8 or later" in the documentation. (2) The database=cleandata command is removed and replaced by two new commands: - database=cleandata_history which removes unneeded SMF and IMS data from historical database table - database=cleandata_ml which removes unneeded analysis results data from the machine learning system database tables For more information see "Command reference for operating the metric-based machine learning system" in the documentation. (3) The IZOA_DB2HLQ metric-based machine learning configuration parameter, which specifies the high-level qualifier for the Db2 product installation, is removed. This was used to access the Db2 SDSNLOAD and SDSNEXIT data sets. It is replaced by the IZOA_SDSNLOAD_DSN and IZOA_SDSNEXIT_DSN configuration parameters, which specify the fully qualified data set names of the Db2 SDSNLOAD and SDSNEXIT libraries. For more information, see the sample izoaml.config file in the $IZOA_HOME/samples directory. (4) When starting the metric-based machine learning continuous scoring agent you can use the --IZOA_ML_PROP_FILE parameter to specify that not all anomaly scores should be sent to the rules engine when scoring. To do this set the following properties in the file passed to the --IZOA_ML_PROP_FILE parameter: - Set isSendAll to false for the notification stage - Set thresholdScore to the minimum score that you want to be sent to the rules engine For more information, see the sample IZOA_DB2HEALTH_ML.properties, IZOA_CICSHEALTH_ML.properties, IZOA_MQHEALTH_ML.properties and IZOA_IMSHEALTH_ML.properties files in the $IZOA_HOME/samples directory. (5) The queries used by the Problem Insights server are modified to be compatible with the zParm DECIMAL=COMMA. (6) The metric-based machine learning system can analyze IMS metrics. Restriction: The IBM IMS Insight Pack is not supported by the Problem Insights server on IBM z/OS UNIX System Services. If you want to analyze IMS log data, the Problem Insights server must be installed on a supported Linux operating system. For more information see "KPIs that are analyzed by the IBM IMS Insight Pack", "IMS log data" and "Configuring the System Data Engine for collecting IMS records".
