Error description

  • System symbols not resolved prior to CKRCARLA obtaining ENQ.
    
    This can lead to serialization issues when CKRCARLA, or
    CKRCARLX for CKQRADAR, allocates a CKFREEZE file name specified
    using system symbols, while CKFCOLL is updating that CKFREEZE
    file.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Admin/Audit does not resolve    *
    *                      system symbols for DSN specification    *
    *                      resulting in various run-time errors.   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided and review the        *
    *                 documentation updates.                       *
    ****************************************************************
    When system symbols are provided as part of the DSN value, the
    zSecure Admin/Audit does not resolve them which might result in:
    
     - MSGIKJ56228I which begins with the text "DATA SET <name> NOT
       IN CATALOG ...".
     - MSGCKR0911 which begins with the text "ISGENQ RC=04 ...".
     - MSGCKR1714 which begins with the text "Directory entry record
       truncated ...".
    
     and some others messages due to the failure to obtain an ENQ
     on CKFREEZE data set being processed by zSecure.
    

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Admin/Audit has been modified so that it resolves system
    symbols provided in the DSN argument of the ALLOCATE CARLa
    statement.
