Error description
In rare situations during end of volume extend processing for a catalog, a bit was left on in Catalog Address Space that prevented the update to sharing structures in a particular catalog's VVR. When this occurred, several cache inconsistencies occured across systems. Such inconsistencies can included 246-20 data sets cataloged on one system, but not another differences in volumes a data set resides on between systems 48-20 SHARING SUBCELL BK-LVL This apar will provide additional diagnostic information CATKEYS: CAT2021 CATCACHE CATDB2 CATECS CATGDG DSBREAKER CATBREAKER
Local fix
BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION: Upon first notice of synchronization issues, close catalog via F CATALOG,UNALLOCATE(catname) on all systems. Catalog will be reopen/refreshed upon next update F CATALOG,NOVLF(catname) and F CATALOG,NOISC(catname) will prevent future use of the cache though performance may degrade. RECOVERY ACTION: It is possible datasets may have lasting affects such as cases where an extend took place on multiple systems. Recovery of those data sets may be necessary. Check catalog for corruption via EXAMINE and DIAGNOSE
