    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM Z System Automation V4R2 *
    * or V4R1 using the hardware automation *
    * functions of the product or are using GDPS *
    * to monitor and control IBM Z. *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: While using the hardware automation *
    * function or GDPS it could happen that *
    * - the session suspend state is not *
    * cleared from persistent storage *
    *                      - the SA-BCPii instead of the ProcOps   *
    * suspend state is changed *
    ****************************************************************
Resuming a suspended connection for a processor (target
hardware) could lead to an improper suspend state in the
persistent storage which causes that the connection is
suspended again after a NetView recycle. This could happen when
during the resume operation a timeout occurs or the associated
WAIT is canceled by using the GO command.
When suspending an ISQET32 ProcOps session it could happen
that the SA-BCPii (INTERNAL connection) instead of the ProOps
    suspend state is changed.

Problem conclusion

  • The resume operation is changed and the suspend state will
always be cleared from persistent storage. This reflects the
intend that the session should be resumed. After a NetView
recycle the policy settings will be applied as specified.
When suspending an ISQET32 ProcOps session the corresponding
ProcOps suspend state will be changed. Additional checking
ensures that no SA-BCPii session state will be affected.
