Error description
During a JES3 warm start with analysis, a DM760 ABEND is issued for the job(s) specified for removal during the warm start with analysis. ANALYSIS: For a job being deleted on a warm start with analysis, JES3 does not reclaim the job's spool space (label VTAT1300 in IATDMJV). Later, when looking at the job's JDS, JES3 identifies that the JDSTOKEN is zero for several JDS entries. As a result, some JCT fields (including the JDSTOKEN) are copied into the JDS entry (label VJOB1460). After that, JES3 sets JVWJDSUP to indicate that the JDS needs to be written to spool. Later, when the write is attempted,, a DM760 abend is issued because the spool space was not reclaimed. KNOWN IMPACT: DM760 abend issued for job(s) specified for removal during a warm start with analysis. VERIFICATION STEPS: 1). Initiate a JES3 warm start with analysis. 2). Specify specific jobs for removal when prompted. 3). DM760 issued for job(s) specified for removal.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All users of HJS77C0 and HJS77D0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * ABENDDM760 issued for jobs being * * deleted during JES3 restart with * * analysis. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** JES3 was restarted using warmstart with analysis, and some jobs were flagged for deletion. When such a job was processed by INJOBVAL, its spool space was not reclaimed. Later, module IATDMJV detected that some JDS (IATYJDS) fields were not present, so it modified the JDS and attempted to update the modified JDS on spool. Since the spool space was not assigned to the job, the write failed with ABENDDM760 RSN18.
Problem conclusion
Installation On (All Processors) Order (Any) Activation Order (Any) Type/JES3 restart (None) Type/IPL (None) CLPA (No) (See Apar II07968 for definitions) A new bit JVWNOREC has been added to macro IATYJVW to indicate that a job's spool space was not reclaimed. Module IATDMJV has been changed to set the new bit when needed, and to skip updating a job's JDS (IATYJDS) when the bit is on. Modules IATIPJVW and IATJVLG have been updated to display the description of the new bit.
