Error description

  • Users are unable to log into the CICS region and the CICS JOBLOG
does not contain any errors. A CICS resource monitor may
generate an alert indicating that the CICS region is
looping/clocking/hanging

Problem summary


    

  • A Z APM module, AGMXAPI, is used to obtain blocks from the
common area data space. While following a chain of blocks to the
end, a loop occurs in AGMXAPI because the block's pointer points
to itself.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Z APM Base (Container) was updated to print log messages
indicating when a loop/error is detected in AGMAXAPI, and exit
without generating events.
The following log message is printed:
AGMA0073E AGMAXAPI error detected during tracking
