Performance improvement Abstract: Lock performance improvement Description: Lock contention potentially hangs user logon Local solution: n/a Resolution: Locking has been improved to eliminate contention OA61077 represents a significant performance improvement for V210 but also a small functional change. Dialog lock initialization was moved from 'first use' to 'at product startup' to minimize a potential lock contention that hung the system. The effect should be transparent. KLSOPTMT is deprecated. KLSOPTMT tracked dialog use, the overhead of which was significant and the payback minimal. The replacement function has been ported from V310 and works like this: Rather than log *executed dialog maintenance at shutdown, *all dialog maintenance is reported at startup. The deprecated command: NTD KLSMLEV ??? which is no longer relevant, instead invokes the aforementioned startup maintenance list in the event an on-demand list is necessary (e.g., if the entire TLVLOG is unavailable).
