OA60591: SUPPORT FOR EXEC CICS START

APAR status

• Closed as new function.

Error description

• Customer was unable to see backend metrics tracking for
  CICS cross-region calls made using the EXEC CICS START API.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• An EXEC CICS START call to another CICS region results in both
  a CICS mirror transaction and the target transaction being
  started.
  Prior to fix, Z APM Connect did not correlate the target
  transaction with the entire call chain, causing work done
  by the target transaction to not be monitored.
  

Problem conclusion

• The EXEC CICS START API call to other CICS regions initiates
  multiple transactions, the first of which Z APM Connect only
  reported metrics for.
  The Z APM Connect CICS data collector is updated to report
  data from additional transactions that were started as a result
  of a cross-region EXEC CICS START call.
  This update adds support for the following EXEC CICS START API
  variations::
  - EXEC CICS START CHANNEL
  - EXEC CICS START without TERMID option
