  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • NEW FUNCTION - DFSMShsm has been enhanced to support a new
EXCLUDEF keyword on the BACKDS/HBACKDS and RECOVER/HRECOVER
commands and a new -E option on the hbackup and hrecover UNIX
commands. The new keyword EXCLUDEF and new option -E allow UNIX
files to be excluded from processing based on the exclude
criteria contained in a file specified by the new EXCLUDEF
keyword or new -E option. Additionally a new patch bit is added
to enable PDA tracing of the exclude criteria contained in the
UNIX file specified by the EXCLUDEF keyword or -E option. When
the patch bit is enabled, all exclude criteria contained in the
EXCLUDEF file will be captured and recorded in the PDA datasets
prior to any validation of the criteria.

Problem conclusion

To use the new function, create a UNIX file with the exclude
criteria you wish to use, and specify that filename on the
    DFSMShsm backup or recover commands.

To enable the exclude criteria tracing, issue the following
    command:
    PATCH .ARCCVT.+02E BITS(....1...)
To disable the exclude criteria tracing, issue the following
    command:
    PATCH .ARCCVT.+02E BITS(....0...)
By default, the tracing is disabled.

exclude criteria. New -E option is added for the UNIX hbackup
and hrecover commands to specify the UNIX file with exclude
    criteria.

    z/OS DFSMShsm Storage Administration
    SC23-6871
New keyword EXCLUDEF is added to the BACKDS and RECOVER commands
to specify the UNIX file containing exclude criteria.
