Error description
During a FlashCopy Establish of volumes mirrored by XRC, using the Remote Pair FlashCopy for XRC feature (RPFC for XRC), clients can encounter the following message which causes an XRC suspend: ANTX5119E XRC SESSION(session_id) ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR PROCESSING STORAGE CONTROL #### SESSION ##, RC=1017 REAS=0000 SRVC=0106 VERIFICATION STEPS: 1. Confirm the existance of the ANTX5119E RC=1017 REAS=0000 within the SDM LPAR SYSLOG. 2. Confirm how long these sessions have been active without an XEND, and if any volume pairs have been deleted (XDELPAIR) from the session(s) receiving the error since the last XEND. 3. Confirm FlashCopy is executed on XRC Primary volumes.
Local fix
BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION: An XEND of the XRC sessions is required to clear this condition. RECOVERY ACTION: 1. A normal Resync to the XRC sessions will recover the mirror temporarily until the next FlashCopy. 2. An XEND of the sessions encountering the RC=1017 will temporarily resolve the issue until volume pairs are removed (XDELPAIR) from the session.
