OA59801: ABEND0C4 IEAVC600 ENF LISTEN EXIT WHEN ENTERING COMMAND FROM THE SYSCONS, IE HMC OSM

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Post IPL, a command was entered on the System Console (SYSCONS
  HMC Operating System Messages window) that resulted in message
  
  IEE624I SYSTEM CONSOLE INPUT REJECTED, ISSUE VARY CN(*),ACTIVATE
  COMMAND TO ENABLE SYSTEM CONSOLE COMMUNICATIONS
  
  Following this message, an ABEND0C4 occurred in the SYSCONS
  Listener Exit, disabling the exit and preventing further non-
  Priority SYSCONS commands.
  
  An IPL is required to reactivate the SYSCONS exit.
  

Local fix

• To avoid the problem, do any of the following...
  
  1. IPL with a CONSOLxx CONSOLE DEVNUM(SYSCONS) with ALLOWCMD(Y)
  
  2. Ensure the first SYSCONS command issued post IPL is
     VARY CN(*),ACTIVATE
  
  If the problem has already occurred, perform #2 above and
  check the SYSCONS Priority Box before issuing commands.

  A command was entered on the System Console without proper
  authority resulting in message IEE624I that was immediately
  followed by an ABEND0C4 from the SYSCONS Listener Exit.
  This ABEND will be followed by disablement of the exit.
  

Problem conclusion

• The SYSCONS Listener Exit has been modified to avoid the
  subject ABEND and disablement following message IEE624I.
