Error description

  • CKRCARLA incorrectly assumes that it is called as a UNIX process
    when LE initializes a UNIX environment.

    Possible symptom - ABEND 0C4-38 in CKRCARLA.STDIO@QDB
    when starting C2PACMON.

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of zSecure Software Suite *
    * exploiting the CEEOPTS DD statement in jobs *
    * that run the zSecure main component *
    *                 (CKRCARLA/CKR4Z196/CKR8Z12).                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The main zSecure processing component *
    *                      (CKRCARLA/CKR4Z196/CKR8Z12) might       *
    *                      terminate unexpectedly (ABEND0C4).      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided. *
    ****************************************************************
    When a job or stated task that runs the zSecure processing
    engine (that is CKRCARLA/CKR4Z196/CKR8Z12 load modules) contains
    a CEEOPTS DD statement to provide the additional
    invocation-level language environment runtime options, the
    zSecure main program might terminate unexpectedly (ABEND0C4).

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure has been modified so that the the zSecure main
    processing program (CKRCARLA/CKR4Z196/CKR8Z12) performs
    correctly in cases where the running job exploits the CEEOPTS DD
    statement to provide the additional invocation-level language
    environment runtime options.
