Error description

  • DADSM Partial Release does not free the PRLRMAIN work area after
an error condition occurs in IGG020P1 or IGG020P2.

Storage will be above the line in subpool 230, key 5 and
contain PRLRMAIN work areas with fields filled in including
Format1 DSCB for a data set.

This will only occur when Partial Release is entered via SVC or
PARTREL MACRO issued by the caller.

Storage will be x'1000' bytes with x'710' bytes free and work
area will look similar to this:
    7F66A000.:7F66A70F. LENGTH(X'0710')--All bytes contain X'00'

For long running jobs such as HSM, an accumulation of these work
areas above the line may result in abend878 RC0C in the address
    space such as HSM.

    Additional Symptoms:
    MSGIEC614I PRLSE failed rc16 diagnostic information 08160878
    will also be issued.
MSGARC0003I CODE 04653000 may also be seen

Partial release workarea extension built by front-end SVC
routine is not freed by its front-end recovery routine.

Problem conclusion

  • Changes have been added in partial release back-end recovery
routine to free the partial release workarea extension built
    by the front-end SVC procedure.
