Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of zSecure Audit exploiting the AU.L *
    * and RE.F interactive options using file *
    *                 integrity monitoring functions.              *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Audit does not offer all *
    * necessary options in its user interface *
    * to control the checksum algorithm *
    *                      migration options for AU.L.2 and AU.L.4 *
    * functions and the checksum algorithm *
    *                      used when creating a CKFREEZE in AU.L.0 *
    *                      option. Additionally, the AU.L.0 option *
    * uppercases the entered password for *
    *                      anti-tamper digest calculation, thus    *
    * reducing its complexity. Lastly, the *
    * RE.F interactive options do not allow *
    * searching for records based on existing *
    *                      sensitivity.                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided. *
    ****************************************************************
    Migrating to a new checksum algorithm in the AU.L interactive
    options cannot be done in the user interface alone and checksum
    calculation options cannot be controlled properly from the user
    interface. The RE.F interactive options don't allow selection of
    records based on existing sensitivity.

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Audit has been modified so: The AU.L.2 and AU.L.4
    interactive options allow the user to specify the time period
    within which data set anti-tamper digests are considered equal
    if both CKFREEZEs were taken within the specified time period
    but calculated with a different checksum algorithm. The AU.L.0
    interactive option allows the user to select the checksum
    algorithm to be used and allows providing a password in mixed
    case, thus increasing password complexity compared to uppercase
    only passwords. The RE.F interactive options allow selecting
    records that have a sensitivity by typing "*" in the sensitivity
    field. On the RE.F.M and RE.F.D interactive options the
    Fingerprint field was renamed to Anti-tamper digest.
