There is no way to change or disable the 5 minute LOGON
    prompting timeout value.
This causes problems in some environments.

Problem conclusion

  • This support allows for setting a LOGON timeout value or
    disabling timeout.
It has been implemented in V2R4. Lower releases have been
updated to tolerate the new keyword to allow sharing of the
    Parmlib member.
Parmlib member IKJTSOxx will now allow setting a specific
timeout value. This support can also be disabled.
The following book will be updated:.

z/OS MVS Initialization and Tuning Reference (SA23-1380)
Section : IKJTSOxx (TSO/E commands and programs)
Subsection: Statements and parameters for IKJTSOxx

    LOGON
TIMEOUT - Specifies a value between 0 and 255 denoting how
many minutes TSO LOGON prompting will be allowed
before the LOGON session is terminated. If 0 is
specified no timeout will occur. If not specified,
5 minutes will be the default.

Note: If the TIMEOUT value is routed from a system that does
not support TIMEOUT, the receiving system will set the
            default of 5 minutes.
