APAR status

Error description

  • Alert Verify fails with CKR1224, CKR0988, CKR1231 when using an
alternate SMTPATSIGN character, in combination with an EXTENDED
MONITORING alert.

Local fix

  • Disable the EM alert, or use standard AT sign.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of zSecure Alert that have one or more *
*                 Extended Monitoring alerts selected and a    *
*                 customized SMTP atsign.                      *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Alert verification step issues  *
*                      multiple syntax errors (MSGCKR1224,     *
*                      MSGCKR0988, and MSGCKR1231).            *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided.                      *
****************************************************************
When verifying an alert set with one or more Extended Monitoring
alerts selected and having specified a custom SMTP atsign for
this set, the verification of this step fails with errors
(MSGCKR1224 which begins with the text "Incomplete mailbox...",
MSGCKR0988  which begins with the text "Syntax error...", and
MSGCKR1231 which  begins with the text "Missing domain...".

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Alert has been modified so that with one or more
Extended Monitoring alerts selected and a having specified a
custom SMTP atsign,  the verification step is performed
correctly.
