OA56099: NFS CLIENT AT 2.3 TAKES MUCH LONGER TO COPY A DATA SET. ASYNC I/O

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Migrated from Z/OS 2.1 to Z/OS 2.3.  Doing an Ocopy from Z/OS to
  a NETAPP server now takes 10X longer then at the prior release.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The z/OS NFS Client sets the            *
  *                      TCPSENDBFRSIZE of 180KB which is low    *
  *                      for the possible maximum                *
  *                      TCPMAXSENDBUFRSIZE of 2MB.              *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The z/OS NFS Client sets TCPSENDBFRSIZE and TCPRCVBUFRSIZE of
  the socket connection to the Server NFS port 2049 to the
  configured TCPMAXSENDBUFRSIZE and TCPMAXRCVBUFRSIZE.
  

Problem conclusion

• Increase the TCP socket TCPSENDBFRSIZE and TCPRCVBUFRSIZE to the
  configured TCPMAXSENDBUFRSIZE and TCPMAXRCVBUFRSIZE to improve
  the performance.
