Error description

  • An incorrect extended format suffix can be written for a
multi-volume generic compressed data set opened for INOUT. The
incorrect field will appear in the suffix of the first block of
    the second (or later) volume.

This can cause errors when reading the data set later on, such
as an abend0C4 when browsing it with ISPF.

Note that for the problem to occur, the data set must be:
    1) Multi-volume
    2) Opened with INOUT
    3) Generic compressed (not tailored or z/EDC)
