    TS7700 Release 4.2 Information:
    -------------------------------
This APAR was developed as part of the full function support
for Release 4.2 of the TS7700 Virtualization Engine D/T3957.
For a full discussion of the TS7700 Release 4.2 enhancements
refer to the TS7700 Knowledge Center:
    https://www.ibm.com/support
    /knowledgecenter/en/STFS69/landing/welcome_002.htm
    .
The main highlight of their 4.2 release includes support for a
cloud storage tier. Their new cloud storage tier leverages
transparent cloud tiering to optionally store virtual tape
data in a cloud environment. In support of their new cloud
storage tier, there are minor host software enhancements. This
APAR is recommended, but is not required to use the new cloud
storage tier support in the TS7700.
    .
Note: most of the support discussed below was already included
with OA52376 (OAM's support for Release 4.1.2 of the TS7700).
This APAR documents the support that was added specific
to the cloud storage tier and also fixes a minor issue
with the DISPLAY SMS,LIBRARY command and the new status
"Cloud object store degraded" not being displayed.
    .
    OAM Tape Library Support Enhancements:
    --------------------------------------
1> New library operational state added:
    .
Support for a new library operational state "Cloud Object
Store Degraded" is added for both a distributed and a
composite library. The following messages will be issued:
     - CBR3736E Cloud object store degraded in library library
       name.
     - CBR3737I Cloud object store no longer degraded in
       library library-name.
    .
CBR3736E is issued when a distributed library enters this
state and will also be issued for the composite library
associated with this distributed library. The composite
library stays in this state if at least one of its distributed
libraries is in this state and leaves this state when all of
its distributed libraries are no longer in this state.
CBR3737I is issued when a distributed library or a composite
    library leaves this state.
    .
2> Enhancements to the DISPLAY SMS,LIBRARY command (CBR1110):
    .
A new "Cloud object store configured" status line is displayed
as part of the command output for a distributed library. This
status line will also be displayed for the composite library
if at least one of its distributed libraries has a cloud
object store configured. In support of the new library
operational state, a new status line "Cloud object store
degraded" will also be displayed for both the composite and a
distributed library when in this state.
    .
3> Enhancements to the DISPLAY SMS,VOLUME command (CBR1140I):
A new "Cloud object store instance of volume exists" status
line is displayed as part of the command output for a volume
if at least a copy of the logical volume exists in the cloud.
    .
    .
    New/Changed Messages:
    ---------------------
    .
    CBR1110I - Changed message.
Displays a new status line: "Cloud object store configured".
Displays a new status line: "Cloud object store degraded".
    .
    CBR1140I - Changed message.
Displays a new status line: "Cloud object store instance of
    volume exists".
    .
    CBR3736E - New message.
    .
CBR3736E Cloud object store degraded in library library-name.
    .
Explanation: Library library-name is configured with one or
more network attached cloud object stores. There is either an
issue with the connectivity to a configured cloud object store
or a cloud object store itself is considered degraded. This
condition is cleared (for a composite library) when all
attached object stores and the connectivity to them (from the
distributed libraries) is no longer viewed as degraded.
    .
System Action: General usage of the library continues. This
message is retained until all attached object stores and the
connectivity to them is no longer viewed as degraded.
    .
Operator Response: Search the problem reporting databases for
a fix for the problem. If no fix exists, contact the IBM
Support Center to perform the necessary repair action.
    .
System Programmer Response: Refer to the operator response.

    Descriptor Code: 11
    .
    CBR3737I - New Message.
    .
CBR3737I Cloud object store no longer degraded in library
    library-name.
    .
Explanation: All of the configured network attached cloud
object stores associated with library-name are no longer
degraded. At least one configured cloud object store was
previously degraded. Message CBR3736E indicates when the
library had initially entered this state.
    .
    System Action: None.
