Error description
After OA49652, the trace table size is defaulted to 120 MB per ANTAS00x address space. If XRC trace options are on and require more storage then 120 MB, then up to 3 times (360 MB) of auxiliary storage can be allocated. This can lead to message IRA220I if the LPAR does not have sufficient auxiliary storage defined: IRA220I CRITICAL AUXILIARY SHORTAGE This APAR was opened to add documentation to explain the increased storage usage for the diagnostic change in OA49652.
Local fix
Some XRC trace options should be turned off until the LPAR is defined with sufficient auxiliary storage: A. Set diagnostic flags ON in SYS1.PARMLIB(ANTXIN00): FLAG NAME(BIGD) ACTION(OFF) FLAG NAME(DEBUG) ACTION(OFF) FLAG NAME(ABEND) ACTION(ON) FLAG NAME(ABEND_LIC) ACTION(ON) FLAG NAME(NRFITF) ACTION(OFF) FLAG NAME(SCTRAP) ACTION(ON) FLAG NAME(SCTRAP2) ACTION(ON) FLAG NAME(TIF) ACTION(OFF) FLAG NAME(TIF_ERROR) ACTION(OFF) B. Issue XSET session PARMLIB(ANTXIN00 ACTION(APPLY) DATASET('SYS1.PARMLIB'))

Problem conclusion
To change the trace table buffer size for an XRC session, set parameter TraceTableBufferSize in PARMLIB member ANTXIN00 and issue XSET PARMLIB to session id ANTAS000. Any subsequent XRC sessions that are started or restarted with an XSTART command will be created with trace table buffers of the specified size. Any active XRC sessions need to have XSUSPEND TIMEOUT issued followed by XSTART to pick up the new value. Note: Each XRC session's trace table buffer is triple buffered, so enough storage is needed to contain 3 times the amount specified in the parameter value per XRC session. The following updates will be reflected in a future revision of the z/OS DFSMS Advanced Copy Services manual (SC23-6847): Chapter 3, Table 9: ANTCLnnn Data space requirements should be 15MB-765MB* ANTASnnn (other than ANTAS000) Data space requirements should be 15MB-765MB* *Storage needed is 3 times the amount specified in the TraceTableBufferSize PARMLIB parameter. Chapter 6, Table 22: Category DIAG, Parameter TraceTableBufferSize, will have a range of 5 - 255. The default will remain 120. Chapter 6, DIAG category: TraceTableBufferSize Specifies the size, in megabytes, of the trace table buffer for XRC component trace records. It is recommended to use a value of 120 or higher. Each XRC session's trace table buffer is triple buffered, so enough storage is needed to contain 3 times the amount specified in the parameter value per XRC session. To change the trace table buffer size for an XRC session, set this parameter in PARMLIB member ANTXIN00 and restart the ANTAS000 address space. Any subsequent XRC sessions that are started or restarted with an XSTART command will be created with trace table buffers of the specified size. Note: Parameter TraceTableBufferSize will only be processed in the ANTXIN00 PARMLIB member. The parameter will be ignored in all other PARMLIB members. KEYWORDS: XRC/K
