z/OS system logger has been enhanced to allow the use of IBM zHyperWrite data replication when it is configured at your installation. Refer to the HYPERWRITE specification in publication z/OS MVS Initialization and Tuning Reference topic "IECIOSxx (I/O related parameters)" for details, requirements, and enablement related to the IBM zHyperWrite data replication. Log stream data sets that system logger will allow IBM zHyperWrite data replication are: - staging data sets for DASDONLY type log streams, - offload data sets for both the DASDONLY type and Coupling Facility structure-based type log streams. Log stream data sets that system logger does NOT support using IBM zHyperWrite data replication are: - staging data sets for Coupling Facility structure-based type log streams. See the documentation information for more details concerning this system logger enhancement. Multi System Application info - Before installing the PTFs for APAR OA54814 on any system in the SYSPLEX, the PTFs for APAR OA55079 MUST be installed and active on every system that makes use of log streams in the SYSPLEX. The PTFs for the APAR OA54814 enhancement may be applied and activated on one system at a time in the sysplex. An IPL is required to activate the PTFs for APAR OA54814 on each system of the SYSPLEX, however, a rolling IPL is sufficient to accomplish the activation.
