Error description

  • CICS/TS 5.4 has changed the default data location for program
definitions from below to any. It has been identified that since
Rexx/CICS definitions are supplied without specification of
datalocation this change in default behaviour will detrimentally
impact Rexx/CICS at least for program CICPDS.
    See CICS/TS RTC defect 134831.

    ****************************************************************
CICS Transaction Server 5.4 has changed the default DATALOCATION
so when it has been omitted from the program definition, it will
default to ANY. Rexx module CICPDS is an RMODE 24 program
and does not currently have a DATALOCATION specified. As a
consequence it defaults to ANY but if it is loaded above the
line then Rexx running on CICS will 0C4 when it uses it.

Problem conclusion

  • The definitions for Rexx module CICPDS have been modified and
    now specify DATALOCATION(BELOW).
