Error description

  • STIG rule ZVTM0018 sometimes uses the subsystem type from the
    wrong system.
This can be seen when running this single rule set with
multiple CKFREEZE files allocated and results in information
    from non-VTAM subsystems being reported.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided. *
    ****************************************************************
When an indirect reference (lookup) is used in the SELECT or
EXCLUDE CARLa statement and the data from multiple systems are
being processed, the results generated by zSecure Admin/Audit
might be incorrect. This also applies to the controls of the
zSecure Audit compliance testing framework (in particular the
ZVTM0018 "VTAM system datasets" control) that use such lookups.

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Admin/Audit has been modified so that the indirect
references (lookups) specified in the SELECT/EXCLUDE CARLa
statements result in a correct reports in cases where the data
from mutiple systems are being processed.
