OA50674: UNABLE TO ACCESS HOD DOWNLOAD CLIENT WITH JRE 1.8.0_91, SCREEN IS BLANK AND NO ERRORS IN JAVA CONSOLE

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When trying to access a Host On-Demand download client with HOD
  11.0.14 or HOD 12, the screen hangs and no errors are shown in
  the java console when using Oracle JRE 1.8.0_91.  The problem
  only occurs using the FireFox browser.  Internet Explorer 11
  continues to work.
  

Local fix

• Use a different JRE or
  Use a cached client or web start client or
  Use Internet Explorer instead of FireFox.

• Code changes were provided to identify the "locale" in the java
  script file.
