APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Odd problem where you can successfully run CARLa via CO.C and
    then typing GO or RUN when the CARLa code is entered. However,
    if you type SUB and try to run this via a batch process, the
    system on which the CARLa runs is excluded from the report.
    The CARLa being used is this
    alloc type=CKFREEZE active    zsecsys=*
    NEWLIST type=ip_port name=PORTRESV,
      TT='Daliy Port Reservation Report',
      Emptylist=SHOW
    SORTLIST system end_port protocol count jobname resname bind
    options
    SUMMARY begin_port count(nd)

Local fix

  • Run via option CO.C

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of zSecure Services for remote data *
    *                 access (CKNSERVE).                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Services for remote data access *
    * does not collect local system *
    *                      information when the ZSECSYS=* argument *
    * is spacified on the ALLOCATE CARLa *
    *                      statement.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided. *
    ****************************************************************
    When the ZSECSYS=* argument is specified in the ALLOCATE CARLa
    statement, the local system is excluded from processing,
    resulting in missing report(s) for the local system.

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Services for remote data access have been modified so
    when ZSECSYS=* argument is provided for the ALLOCATE CARLa
    statement, the local system is also taken into account. Please
    note the documentation changes as provided by the APAR tracking
    comment data.
