Error description

  • What we are trying to achieve is to show the actual profile
Installation Data as a separate variable in the ISPF displays.
This works for us everywhere in zSecure except RA.3.7 as
everywhere else the ISPF screens for Dataset class vs General
    Resource class are separated.
We have mapped over the pre-existing CARLa variable INSTDATA
because we want to updated value of that variable displayed in
the screen. Therefore using a different variable name will not
help us, as that's not the variable the default ISPF screens
    will then use.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of zSecure Admin exploiting RA.3.7 *
    * (MATCH - Find profiles that cover a data set *
    * or resource) interactive option with custom *

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Admin might issue MSGCKR0500 *
    * while looking for a data set or general *
    * resource profiles using interactive *
    * option RA.3.7 in cases where the custom *
    * INSTDATA mappings are defined using *
    *                      interactive option SE.6.                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided. *
    ****************************************************************
When the custom INSTDATA mappings are defined using interactive
option SE.6 (Setup - Instdata), the zSecure Admin might issue
MSGCKR0500 which begins with the text "Define for variable
INSTDATA (type=racf) at CKRCMDV line <n> conflicts with define
at ..." while performing profile lookup using interactive option
RA.3.7 if local INSTDATA mappings for DATASET and RESOURCE
classes exist that define the same field names.

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Admin has been modified so that the profile lookup via
interactive option RA.3.7 performs properly in cases where the
custom INSTDATA mappings are defined via interactive option
    SE.6.
