  • When SMF compression is active for DB2 (SMFCOMP=ON), generated
compressed records to not show record subtype while its
uncompressed counterparts do.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of zSecure Admin/Audit processing SMF  *
*                 data sets containing DB2 compressed records  *
*                 (written by DB2 subsystem where the          *
*                 SMFCOMP=ON configuration parameter is in     *
*                 effect).                                     *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Admin/Audit might report empty  *
*                      SMF record sub-type identifiers for     *
*                      DB2 compressed SMF records.             *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided.                      *
****************************************************************
SMF reports generated the zSecure Admin/Audit might contain an
empty record sub-type identifier for compressed DB2 SMF records
in cases where the requested report field list does not contain
data derived from the compressed part of the SMF record.

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Admin/Audit has been modified so it correctly reports
record sub-type identifiers for compressed DB2 SMF records.
