OA49282: DISPLAY ITEM VALUE OF -1 DISPLAYS AS 4294967295.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A value of -1 is incorrectly displayed as 4294967295.
  
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  A simmple way to reproduce this is to connect a 64-bit klz
  agent to a 64-bit TEMS running on RedHat Linux.
  
  Author a situation using the KLZ_CPU attribute group and just
  specify the CPU_ID attribute and setting the condition to be
  equal to Aggregate.
  
  In addition, set the KLZ_CPU attribute as a display item.
  
  Messages like the following will be issued to the TEMS
  operations/MSG2 log:
  
  Thu Feb  6 17:23:32 2014 KO41041    Enterprise situation
  A_Sit:TVT4158:LZ<4294967295> is true.

  Display Item with value of -1 displays in Tivoli Enterprise
  Portal client as 4294967295. In the case of a situation
  definition that includes a Display Item, where said Display
  Item is a 4 byte integer type containing a negative value,
  the Display Item value will be incorrect in the Situation
  Event Console and the portal client Message Log; it will
  also be incorrect in the message recorded in the Tivoli
  Enterprise Monitoring server Operation (MSG2) log.  This
  incorrect Display Item value only manifests on some
  operating system platforms, notably on Linux 64 bit
  platform.
  
  Note, this defect only affects Display Item form of a
  monitored attribute;  it does not affect the attribute's
  value in context of situation's formula (predicate)
  evaluation.
  

Problem conclusion

• Changes were made to the logic to correctly convert negative
  valued Display Item.
