OA47206: IOEZ00830E IOEZ00581E QUIESCE_MESSAGE_DELAY NOT DISPLAYED CORRECTLY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• There are two settings for the zfs parmlib IOEFSPRM that control
  messages that warn/notify of quiesced zfs aggregates.
  
  IOEZ00581E is controlled by the QUIESCE_MESSAGE_DELAY setting
  
  IOEZ00830E is controlled by the QUIESCEINFO_MESSAGE_DELAY
  setting
  
  If ONLY QUIESCE_MESSAGE_DELAY is set and zFS is restarted to
  pick up the change, the output of F ZFS,QUERY,SETTINGS will
  still show the default value of 30
  
  Ex.
  Parmlib:
  quiesce_message_delay=300
  
  After an IPL or complete restart of zFS,
   F ZFS,QUERY SETTINGS still shows:
  
  QUIESCE_MESSAGE_DELA  30           seconds to wait
                          after quiesce before message is issued
  
  
  This is a NON functional error. The actual changed value for
  QUIESCE_MESSAGE_DELAY is active. However, the output of F
  ZFS,QUERY SETTINGS  displays the default value of 30 still

Local fix

• -ignore the display. The defined value is in effect

Problem conclusion

• Code has been added to correct the handling of the
  CONF_QUIESCEINFO_MESSAGE_DELAY and the
  QUIESCE_MESSAGE_DELAY settings.
