Error description

  • KDS update requests are sent to the master system during a CCMK
operation. When a HCR77A1 system shares a KDS with pre-HCR77A1
systems, the HCR77A1 system may cause an incorrectly formatted
KDS upate to be written to the KDS which leads to corruption of
the KDS record. The potential for the KDS record truncation or
corruption exits only for records updated during the CCMK.

    Problem Summary:
ICSF may corrupt KDS records if a Coordinated Change Master Key
operation is performed while an HCR77A1 system is sharing a KDS
with a pre-HCR77A1 system and KDS updates are being performed.

Problem conclusion

  • ICSF has been changed to send the correct KDS update requests
when a Coordinated Change Master Key operation is performed
while HCR77A1 systems are sharing a KDS with pre-HCR77A1
    systems.
