    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When the ENABLE(PPRCSUM) option is active in
    SYS1.PARMLIB(DEVSUPxx), it's possible for Summary Unit Check
    processing for a PPRC State Change Event occurring during a
    HyperSwap, to leave some devices in the PINNED state. This
    means that if a Dynamic ACTIVATE that affects those devices
    is done following a Hyperswap, the ACTIVATE may fail due to
    the outstanding PINs left on those devices.

Problem conclusion

  • IOS Summary Unit Check processing is being changed to ensure
    that outstanding PINs are not left on devices.
