Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: All OMEGAMON XE for IMS on z/OS v4.2.0 and   *
*                 v5.1.0 using Response Time Analysis (RTA).   *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1 Exclude slough for active UOW.        *
*                      2 Correct program-switch response time  *
*                        metrics.                              *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply this PTF.                              *
****************************************************************
1. Long running transactions are being sloughed, even
   though they are still active.
2. Program-switch transactions are being identified using
   only 16-bytes of the full 32-byte UOW.  In some cases,
   incorrect transactions are being used for reporting
   response time metrics.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • 1. Identify whether a UOW is active and skip sloughing.
2. The full 32-byte UOW is used to identify program-swtich
   transactions.  A memory pool has become redundant due to
   this fix and has been eliminated which will lower
   memory and CPU usage slightly.
